This year, the city plans to build and renovate 138 public toilets, according to the municipal sanitation department. Yesterday, the reporter visited two newly completed public toilets in Siming District. Both public toilets are mobile-powered with steel architecture, and in addition to more advanced equipment, the interior of the barrier-free facilities are more user-friendly. It is understood that the next step in the transformation of public toilets, will also consider adjusting the ratio of men and women to increase female squatting.

According to this year's introduction of “Work Program to Further Promote The "Toilet Revolution" of Xiamen” (hereinafter referred to as "Program"), our city to complement the old town toilet "Short Board", old neighborhoods, the main traffic main road on both sides, transportation hubs, public buildings, large park green space, market and other crowded places should be set up public toilets.

At present, five new public toilets have been built in Siming District, and the other three are located at the junction of Jinshan Road and Yiai Road, near Xiahe Yujing and the opposite of the South Plaza of the Railway Station.
